Profile Summary
Agatha is a devoted therapist and clinical supervisor with over 10 years of experience in the field, her specialties include trauma, depression, anxiety, and couple and family therapy. Agatha believes that the courage it takes for a client to seek therapy is a profound strength, and she is honoured to journey with those who have faced different forms of loss, unforeseen changes, or overwhelming stress that no longer feels manageable. She is committed to supporting individuals and families on their unique journeys towards growth, emotional wellness, and restoration of meaningful connections. Agatha Fung’s vocation as a therapist is deeply rooted in the belief that change and healing are attainable, “Nothing can dim the light which shines from within (Maya Angelou).”
Agatha is currently the Clinical Service Manager and Supervisor of Community Family Services of Ontario, she provides clinical supervision to registered social workers, registered psychotherapists, as well as practicum students. She is passionate about mentoring the new generation of therapists and supporting them in their growth as competent professionals. She is the wife of a pastor with two children and enjoys jogging, as well as spending time with family and friends in her free time.
Approach to Therapy
Agatha offers a safe environment where clients can explore their experiences with compassion and radical acceptance. Agatha approaches therapy from the trauma-informed and attachment lens, and a holistic perspective that takes into account the systemic, cognitive, physiological, emotional and spiritual dimensions of one’s life. Her clinical approaches include Family Systems approaches, Emotionally Focused Therapy for individuals, couples, and families, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Ego State Therapy, as well as Cognitive-Behavioral and Solution-Focused Therapy. Spirituality has also been an important part of Agatha’s life and work, she is happy to integrate spirituality into one’s healing journey, if so desired.
